Default Help me pick one. C-50, S-40, S-30, S-230 or 730 UZ.

Hello everyone,

I currently own an Olympus 2100UZ, but am looking for a really good compact camera for portability purposes. I recently purchased an Olympus D-40, which I had to return because of a remote sensor defect. While the Olympus took some pretty incredible daytime and nighttime shots, the indoor photos were'nt as good. The flash seemed to overcompensate and washed everything out. Plus the D-40 had a pretty long startup time and shutter lag.

Since the D-40 is no longer offered from my reseller I need to select something else. Here's the list of what I'm considering:

Olympus C-50
Canon S-40
Canon S-30
Canon S-230
Olympus 730 UZ

I know the 730 UZ is the odd man out, but I really like the 10x zoom feature. Plus it uses both SmartMedia and xD-PictureCards so my previous media doesn't go to waste. I would be giving up some portability though.

Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to recommend other products as well.

The C730 or C50 would be good cameras to purchase. If you want the extra zoom the C730 is the camera
