Default What does "gray market" mean?

Next week i will be in Miami and I would like to buy a digital camera, a 7i or S602 (in my country there are only a few models and are so expensive)
I couldn't buy it on line because retailers don't deliver to a hotels.
Some people told me that Miiami downtown is not safe to buy a camera.
Which are the aspects to consider when buying a camera in this kind of places? What does "gray market" mean?
Thank you for your advice

Grey Market is a term for products that are made for sale in another country. If you do not know the merchant beware. You could wind up with the menu not in english on a camera, warrenty not honored, bring a Mercedies from Germany and Mercedies USA will not work on it. Last time I wrote hard post on grey market got a post saying (something) international were good people to deal with for grey market cameras. after checking I found that they are pulling things like the batteries and charger that come with the Olympus 2100UZ out and selling them as extras. I would suggest you try maybe Sams wholesale club, sears or some other country wide chain if you cannot find a store that you are comfortable with., you will find these chains in the Maima area.
Good luck,

Default Gray Market

I was trying to purchase a camera on line so I called the vendor. After several minutes of questions, the vendor said that he was only selling the camera body. Memory, remote control, usb cable, video cable and software were extra. I then learned about www.dealtime.com which has ratings for their vendors with comments from customers of those vendors. The cheapest cost is not the best buy.
