thanks for all the help with this .

i was concerned because in the manual they have 5 crayons about 4 cm spacing and they show one pic with them all in focus and another one with one in focus and the others going out of focus.

i have a mate and he is up with the play with cameras and he told me similar things to what you have all said but i wasn't sure he was right but now that everyone is telling me the same thing im sure the manual is wrong.

what program eg. photoshop would be a good one for me to start with?

so i can blur pics and just play around with them, are there any free ones or is it worth getting a good program?

my camera came with finepix viewer but it is only a basic program i think, unless im using it wrong.

thanks again for all the help and i only wish i had discovered photography when i was younger than i am now.

Photoshop Elements is not very expensive and uses the same basic features as as Photoshop, so instructions online will usually work. Paint Shop Pro is another bargain in powerful editors. I haven't tried the freebies.
