Default Newbie looking to take pictures of furniture for web.

I am a newbie looking to buy a camera to take pictures of furniture for advertising purposes. I believe that I want a camera with manual focus, a hotshoe for external lighting, and the ability to store a fair number of pictures (20 or 30 ?). I think that since I am only using these pictures on the web a 2 Megapixel camera should be good enough.

I am thinking of:
1) The Olympus C-2500L
2) The Sony Mavica CD-200

Any thoughts? Am I way out of line looking at technology as old as the Olympus C-2500? Does that camera have a successor under $1000?
