Default ISO 800+

I do high-speed skating photography in dark arenas, normally using 1600 film......but many arenas are now banning SLR cameras, so I'm considering a digital camera.

However cost, shutter speed, and ISO are major considerations.
Most of the cameras I read about under $650 (my limit) are ISO 400 and not fast enough.

I MUST have ISO 800 minimum and be able to take at least three photos per second.

Any suggestions anyone?

Fuji 602z will go 800 and 1600 ASA with multi shot mode, BUT you only get 1Mpix resolution. It's not just speed you need to think about, it's low light focus and white balance (therefore has the cam got manual controls) and what's the noise on pics going to be like for the print size.

I've seen some pics from a 602 at 800 ASA taken of a band in a nightclub without flash, and cleaned up with PS and NeatImage. They looked pretty fair.

You say slrs are banned, is this because of flash (or the other problem)? In which case eyelevel viewfinder 'lcd off' option is essential. The 602 is not a tiny small handbag cam.
