I note the lens I am getting with camera ordered is a 28-200mm ed if autofocus lens.. I note some have a DX on them.. what is the DX .. different from one that does not..

Nikon's DX series lenses are designed to work only on DSLR models with sensors smaller than 35mm film (and that's all Nikon DSLR models for right this minute).

So, if you tried to use a DX lens on a 35mm camera, you'd get probably get vignetting (since the image circle wouldn't be large enough to cover the film).
