Thank God Cannon's double rebates ended today. I've been going back & forth on a 5D for the last month or so . . . should I or shouldn't I . . . weighing the pros & cons, etc. Nearly called B&H today, then I noticed they just closed 10 minutes previous.

And anyway, if I did it, which lens(es)? Too many nice choices.

Luckly, these & other questions have become a moot point today with the passing of Cannon's pretty attractive double rebate program.

30 years, & still a loyal Nikonian.

Phew, close one though . . .

Your thoughts?

Brand loyalty should be for only two reasons:

1. You are happy with what you have and don't find yourself for want or need for anything else.

2. Your budget allows you to afford what is best at the time you made your decicision, but for only one system.

If you could afford or have the luxury to shoot more than one maker of camera you may find yourself having a hard time deciding which kit to bring.

It may also come down to the time you have to shoot as well.

I started out with Pentax, but went with Nikon. Who knows I may find myself going with Canon after it is all said and done.

The bodies anymore are disposable IMHO and lenses are the investment.
