I have been shooting the moon for hours and doing it for several nights. No matter what setting I use, the D70 gives me a muchsharper image. Any suggestion? I can get sharp images with the D300 on other subjects so something must be working. It is just on the moon so far. I use a 70-200 lens with a 2X teleconverter and settings around f/8 at 1/500 but i do bracket. I have WB on sunshine.

This was the view from Ontario this evening. D300+Sigma 100-300mm f/4+1.4xTC. 1/250s @ f/10.0, ISO 200. How does it compare with the results that you get with your D300?

... and this was viewed from Maryland a little bit earlier in the same evening:
-> D300/Bigma (1/500s f/10.0 at 500.0mm iso400)
