I would go with the new SB-800 DX (replaced the SB-80DX) or at least the new lower price SB-600DX. The SB-50DX has less power and uses exspensive lithium batteries, not rechargeable, and it hard to get if you're in the remote area. In other attraction areas, it cost more than twice as you pay at your local stores.

Default SB-50

I just got my D100, but using the SB-50 on my 5700, I found it underpowered. For my E1, I therefore sprung for extra power and am very glad I did. I am going to check-out the Sunpack offerings because I really hate to spring for an SB-80 when I rarely use flash.
