I'm sure there may be a few camera's out there that are affected by the service advisory. However, there should be plenty of camera's out there that aren't affected. Just check the serial number with the tool on Nikon's site prior to purchase. If a retailer won't let you do that, then find another retailer. It only takes 7-10 days to get the camera back if it is on the list
