Default D90 + Tamron 17-50 VC Edge Issues

I just bought a refurb d90 and a used Tamron 17-50 with VC

I don't know what the correct term would be, but i started noticing these "ghost edge" effect in edges that were close to white.

The images were taken RAW at f2.8 at 50mm with 1/320 or faster, so there really shouldn't be any camera shake issue.

any idea what might be causing it? is it a VC issue maybe? did i just buy a defective lens/body?

If you could keep the exif on your examples intact it would be even more helpful to understand what the cause would be. The edge issue is chromatic abberation which and be easily corrected with software but not having it in the first place is what you are concerned about.

Your examples show that it is overexposed and out of focus as well. There isn't any part of your examples that show any sharpness or fine detail at all so it isn't a depth of field issue.

Another thing is how much of a crop did you do from the original file?
