Default D7000 spends a weekend in NYC

Went to Manhattan this weekend to visit friends, do some sightseeing and as always, take some photos.

This weekend was a busy one as the NY Marathon was taking place this morning. Lots of Park workers were busy getting Central Park ready and cleaned up from last week's storm, which, incidentally left hundreds of trees in ruins.
I took along the D7000 with Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 , Nikkor 18-70mm, and 70-200mm f2.8VR lenses.

The first series of images were taken at the Ground Zero Memorial which we visited Saturday morning. If you have a chance, you've got to go and see this incredibly beautiful memorial to the 3,000 people that perished on 9/11. The memorial consists of 2 pools, each made to the exact footprint and on the exact location where the towers stood. It is awe inspiring and bone chilling to look at as you suddenly realize you are standing on the burial ground for those people that perished. The names of which are engraved on the rail that surrounds each pool.

So you want to be a better photographer? Open your eyes and take a look at what is all around you.

Very nice set of pictures Zig, looks the Tamron and D7000 is a great combination for this city-escapes.

The first picture is a great example of the great DR of the D7000.

Glad you had a nice weekend in the Big Apple.
