Default D100 ver 1.1 firmware - worth the upgrade to v2?

I just purchased a D100 (used), that has ver 1.1 firmware. Are there any great benifits to the ver 2 firmware upgrade? If so, can this be done as a walk-in in SoCal Nikon service center? (and where is/how would I arrange that? I see no contact phone for Nikon service...)
In the same vein, I need to have the CCD cleaned. Any recommendations for service in SoCal, San Bernadino area?

I don't think it is essential. It adds another color space selection (Adobe sRGB) and several MacIntosh related items. If you need the Adobe color space, then get the upgrade. You will be without the camera for awhile since the upgrade has to be done at a Nikon service center or the Nikon factory. It is not a consumer upgrade.

Visit Nikon's website for a complete description of the upgrade.

It only takes a few minutes to do the upgrade, but last I heard only Nikon does it (not authorized service stations). If you're in California, Nikon's Torrance service center is where you would have to go (19601 Hamilton Ave). If they aren't too busy, they may be willing to do it while you wait. It never hurts to ask.

Here's the full list of enhancements from the upgrade: http://www.nikonusa.com/fileuploads/...ades/d100.html
