Default External Battery Pack for D100?

Can anybody recommend an external battery pack that is compatible with the D100?

I'm looking for something like the <a href="http://www.steves-digicams.com/maha_powerbank.html" target ="_blank">Maha Powerbank </a> or the <a href="http://www.steves-digicams.com/propower.html" target="_blank">Unity Digital ProPower NiMH Pack</a> that have been reviewed here...

Default D100 battery

I am not sure that you need to get one. I bought the Nikon MBE 100 battery pack, and got another rechargeable battery for it (it holds two), it is fantastic! It lasts for weeks, literally.

The grip also balances the camera, but then, I also have an F3 with a motordrive.

The MB-100 can carry two of the Li-ion batteries. It will literally last for days and allow you take hundreds of pictures. I also like the sound recording option for making notes on the particular picture. I have many shots of cathedrals for example and I haven't the foggiest idea of their names, etc. At the time I was sure I'd remember.

I second that, the MB-D100 is the only way to go for several reasons, the least of which is the 2nd battery. The extended body area makes the camera fit your hand like a glove, the portrait grip and vertical shutter release are terrific. I bought one for my D100 and have yet to have needed or purchased a 2nd EN-EL3 battery pack. It comes with an AA battery holder so just load it up with six high-capacity NiMH batteries and keep it handy if you ever manage to kill the EN-EL3.

I have added an entire page to our D100 review that deals strictly with the MB-D100 battery grip:
