I'm thinking of buying a D70s and then using the D70 as a back-up body. Does anyone know if I'm able to use the same batteries and battery charger for both ??

I would hate to have to carry two types of battery chargers.

I never had a problems with the D70 battery - even though I carry a spare, I only had to use it once.

According to Nikon, you can use the battery of the D70s in the D70 and use the same charger, so I cannot see why the reverse would not be the case. The EN-EL3a battery is the exact sameform factor as the EN-EL3.

You can see for your self in the FAQ's on the Nikon website.
