Our Nikon rep was in today with his demo D200 and 18-200 VRII. VERY impressive. very solid. 18-200 had a bit of barrel distortion at 18mm but what do ya expect from an ELEVEN-x zoom lens! very sharp. could handhold nicely at 1/8 sec exposures. very impressive lens. But the D200 was most impressive. Logical controls and menus, very solid. Shooting in B/W mode very nice also. The b/w mode is in the shooting menu under image optimization along with vivid and other choices. When shooting B/W in NEF/RAW you can go back and change it to color. Shooting b/w was particularly nice with the burned out highlights flashing review option. Not only does it have the metering system and image processing chip from the d2x but it has the d2x's ruggedness and large LCD view and information screens. Also has the focus pattern choice review screen ala d2x. very solid and impressive DSLR body and lens, and what a combo they make.
