Default Having some problems with D100 software

Hi there!

I'm new here. I'm looking for answers and was wondering if anyone else is experienceing problems with the Nikon View 5 software. I will be calling Nikon tomorrow, since today is the 4th. However I'm anxious to start loading my images onto my hard drive. Am really frustrated.

I am on a 2 year old PC. It is acting like it can't find the driver. I've had a computer expert in to look at it and they said I was going to have to call Nikon.

Why me?

You didn't give us much to go on as far as your computer is concerned so here's a couple of tips.

Windows 95 or 98 doesn't work, it has to be Windows 98 SE (Second Edition) for proper USB support. If you're using a USB hub then try it direct. If using a hub, is it a powered hub (seperate power supply) -- and how many other USB devices are on the hub already.

Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP Home and Windows XP Pro run USB fine too.

Default update

Thanx Steve-

Yes, I'm running WIN98SE, I've had my computer tech look at everything and it can't seem to find the driver. So....I'm on the phone with Nikon for an hour today, they can't figure it out either.

I've been wanting to upgrade to XP anyway, so I think that is what I'm going to do. First, install XP, then convert to firewire and get the firewire card reader. Hopefully I'll be up and running tonight. I'll let everyone know.

Thanks again!
