Default Canon Lens's with D100???

Here's a dumb question but......

I have heard great things about Canon lens's (superior to Nikon lens) - though they seem to be just as costly.

Will a Canon lens fit on a Nikon D100?

Superior? I wouldn't put it that way, perhaps more numerous? The mount is different for each manufacturer, which wouldn't allow you to attacha Canon lens on a Nikon camera for example. The Canon mount is a bit larger and engeges clockwise, Nikon engages counter-clockwise. Also the lens control contacts differ in position. Both manufatcurers have their pro lines, which used to be AF-S and L lenses. Nowadays that distinction is blurred, so pro lenses can be picked out from the rest by their constant fast aperture, fast autofocus and VR or IS where it applies. Oh, and their prices too
