I recently purchased a 50mm 1.8 E series off of eBay and everything looks good with the lens except for some specks on the front glass. It doesn't really affect my pictures, but I'd like to know whether they're cuts in the glass or spots that can be removed. I've tried breathing on the glass and wiping it down, but it's still there. Do lens pens, Eclipse solution, etc do a better job with stubborn stains?

Eclipse or a quality cleaning fluid and soft cotton. Then put a protective filter on it and get to shooting.
