While *****hing the net for telephoto lenses I came across the Rokinon 650-1300mm f8, 500mm f8 and so on.... The question is will a long distance lens with an f8 lose it's sharpness for details if shooting sports events.

In a word RUN!!

I'm sure most of us at the start of our dSLR lives have considered something like this to get some serious range but after some research found that you simply can't get away with cheap glass.

This is very slow so you won't easily get the shutter speeds desired, manual focus so without a focus screen you will struggle to get an accurate focus, also from the reviews I read it it not giving a constant focus plane (at different parts it focuses at different distances) and lastly it is not sharp.

There is a reason this is about $300 and the Sigma 300-800mm f5.6 is about $8,000 or the Nikon 600mm f4 is about $9,000.

Sorry to say there is not an easy way to get good quality long range shooting without spending some quite serious money.

As mentioned in your other post let us know the sort of thing you really want to do and we will come up with the best possible option.
