I'm sure most of you are familier with the sigma DG 70-300mm f/4 lens it is for almost all mounts for cameras and it costs below $140 in most places, I bought mine of ebay for $100 new.

Here is the thing though, I really think this lens deserves a tripod collar. I've seen lots of modifications to lenses whether it be lens hood adapters, color coatings, etc.

Question: Is there anyway to hack a tripod collar on this magical lens?

Some people hate it, some love it. I love the lens because it's in a nutshell a poor mans zoom.

It's not something that could really be done as a tripod collar is there to help balance and not have the weight of the lens on mount. This lens is so light that you couldn't really get a better balance point and supporting the lens would put more load on the mount than attaching the tripod tothe body.
