I have an AF Nikkor 35-70mm zoom lens for a D50 body.
I had to take out the 2 lenses nearest to the body in order to clean the aperture iris as it was sticking. Unfortunately the lenses fell out without me being able to see the order in which they hade been. There are 2 lenses and a thin spacer washer. One of the lenses is thick and has a distinctly concave side, the other is thin and has a distinctly convex side. I have tried various combinations but don't seem to be able to get it right. Does anyone know where I can find the correct order for the 2 lenses and the spacer, please. Thanks, Tony |

You may want to let members know which Nikkor 35-70mm AF lens you have. Nikon made a number of different 35-70mm lenses. Chances are, it's either an AF 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5, 35-70mm f/2.8, or 35-70mm f/2.8 D. If you search for a specific lens using Google, you may have a better chance of finding diagrams for it. Here's one page showing some of the different 35-70mm Nikkor lenses (but, I don't see any internal diagrams for them):

Thanks Jim, I hadn't realised that there were variants - I not at all an expert.
I did find a web site that had manuals and diagrams and got the one I needed for just $3.95 which had the info that I needed:- http://www.lensinc.net/nikonrepair.html This could be a useful resource for others too, I'm not sure if you have a place to post the link. Tony |
