Default Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 or sigma 18-50 f/2.8?

I've decedid on going with a wider angel lens for my D90. Now I'm debating between the tamron 17-50 f/2.8 and the sigma 18-50mm f/2.8. Between those two, is one considered better than the other? I've heard that sigma might have some quality control issues (as in some soft copies), but I haven't heard that with the tamron ones.

My vote is for the Tokina 16-50 f/2.8, why not included in the poll?
-> It's slighly costlier than the Tamron or Sigma, but then it can put the Nikon 17-55 f/2.8 to shame for its price (and built): Except for the CA which can be easily corrected (if not already done automatically by the D90), this lens is superior in every ways including sharpness and vignetting:

BTW that extra 1mm at the low-end (16 vs 17) makes a lot of difference at the wide: It's the equivalent FOV of a 24mm against a 28mm...
