What flash unit will give me the most features etc. for use with my Nikon D90. I think the Nikon D900 is out of my league at $500. plus. I am thinking about $250.00 tops.

I'd probably go with the SB-600 with a $250 budget. It's a really good flash.
BTW, the SB-900 (which is what I assume you meant since there is no D900) is around $469 now at most reputable online vendors (not $500 plus). |

The SB 600 is a very versatile flash and has most if not all of the features of the SB 900. At $250 it's worth getting over the Sigma 530DG Super ($219). It is a smaller unit than the Sigma and has a quick recyling time.
If you are interested in less featured alternative (i.e. no wireless funtion, strobe function, etc), the Sigma 530 DG ST for $149 would do fine. It is i-TTL compatible and should work with your D90. It all depends on how many of the available features you'd actually use vs. just enjoy having available. |

I have the Nikon SB 600 for my camera and just love it. It does everything I want it to do.

The Metz 48 is another good option for the D-90. However, pricewise, I beat the SB-600 and the Metz 48 by buying a used SB-600 on E-bay for $165, and it has been flawless.
