Well, I have the exact same response when I am post-processing an image. But, when viewing a photo otherwise, it is the overall gestalt
that is the basis of my response to it. I think that the detail that catches my eye when I pixel-peep during post processing contributes to that overall impact, but in a more subliminal way. Maybe not, but that's how it seems to me.
