Default Nikkor 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G VR - Worth $146?

I'm finally upgrading my D80 - moving to the D7100.
I was going to just buy the body and stick with my current lens collection BUT buying a kit with the 18-140 included is only $146 more. I was going to hold off on a lens purchase until later and get a nicer lens (17-35/2.8 or something) but at only $146 - should I just pick this up as another walk around lens? Is it better (other than VR addition) than the 18-135mm kit lens that came with the D80? I am finding some mixed reviews on other sites.

(I have the original 18-135 kit lens that came with my D80, Also have a 18-270 Tamaron (use for travel), a 70-300, a 60mm Macro, and a 10-20 wide.)

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

KEH will give you $243.39 for the 18-140 if you decide to sell it without ever using it.

Since you already have the 18-135, the 18-140 doesn't really buy you much.
