Default AF-S Lenses (For Ron and Steve, et al)

My understanding of AF-S lenses, is that they take over the AF of the camera. So, would the D1x and D100 have the same focusing speed if paired with an AF-S 80-200, 28-70, or 17-35? Obviously the cameras will not have the same buffers, but will the AF be just as quick? I'm trying to clarify this issue.

In addition, I take it that AF lenses, are quicker on the D1x because of the MultiCam1300 vs. the 900 on the D100.

Default AFS

The focusing speed should be pretty much the same, but tracking will be slower with the D100 due to the AF sensor arrangement.

Standard geared lenses are quite a bit quicker on the D1-series...
