I am considering buying 3 nikon lenses for my DSLR. are there any alternate solutions that would offer images that are: sharper, have less CA and less distortion?

the lenses must use either 62mm or 77m filters.

what about 3rd party lenses? Are they any good. I hear that most 3rd party manufacturers have QC problems and sample to sample variation is a lot. this is somethingthat bothers me as I would be buying lenses in the US to use in India.

one alternate is the sigma 18-50/2.8 DX and the 70-200/2.8 HSM but the 18-50 is 67mm glass and the 70-200/HSM is almost the same cost as the 80-200/ED.

another alternate is the sigma 24-60/2.8but with DX sensors 24mm = 36mm unless i add the Tokina 12-24/DX...now I am confused.
