I have grown impatient waiting for the Nikon 18-200 IS lens to become available. So, I will buy one of these lenses for my Nikon D70. Can anyone suggest which of these is the better alternative for a budget of $1,000-$1,200 maximum. Or ... am I better off going with one of the 18-200mm lenses from Tamron or Sigma. I am heading to Switzerland in June but need to get some practice inbeforeI leave. I just know that 2 days after I buy one of these .... bingo the 18-200 becomes available. But ... such is life!! Thanks.

The Sigma is rated better than the Tamron here http://www.photographymags.co.uk/nav...source=3017121and the Nikon isn't even on the list. Has to be the APO Sigma though.
