I have bougt a nikon D200 and I am rather pleased.

But I have a problem with te higher lights whitch lose detail very kwickly.

This problem was not a issue with my D100.

The D80 has a function thats called D-lightning whare you can correct tehe details in teh lower parts (shadows).

Its a pitty that is afterwards in sted off forwards.

I do not like to correct 200 or 300 JPG images.

What i think is that if jou have te function D-lightning in a preset you can under expose your pictures 1 stop and avoid the lost of detail in the higher lights.

Als you have the advantage of correcting details in the lower lights whan you take pictures touwards the sun.

So here is a idea whitch must be anounced by the Nikon engeneers in great numbers.

D-lightning as a preset function in a firmware for the D200 and the D80.

Sorry for my poor englisch writing, greetings , K
