A beautiful picture ! I have an 8800 and find it is excellent for close ups, particularly with the advantage of the tilting LCD. The colour and sharpness of your shot are really nice. Well done !

Hi :

I have both an 8700 and an 8800, and carry the 8700 as a backup camera everywhere we travel. I am more than pleased with both cameras - especially the pivoting display.

That's a beautiful picture of the butterfly.

We have a website under construction which will have several galleries of photos of our travels - especially China and Greece. Except for old scanned pictures, all will have been taken with the Nikons.

When done will list the link.

Really nice closeup! My camera is an 8700. I bought it to take photos of cars for Ebay and have used thousands of times. I am not doing Ebay cars any more but I have time to use it more for fun and experience and I want to take advantage of this cameras features. I bought the teleconverter and wide angle(Nikon). Now I know someones who really can use its abilities. I gotta keep a lookout for graybeards site. I have been thinking of selling it and get dslr or a p90. Nikon D90 would be nice but ouch! thay are not cheap.
If I got the D90 the 8700 would be good to keep. I think the p90 is similar to my 8700
but it has the killer zoom!!
then the otherday I took some good shots, and it saved the 8700 for a while at least.
