I should have mentioned that the playhouse is 225 yards away. Here are a couple of shots to give you more of a feel for how amazing it is to see those bolt heads at full zoom hand-held with such a slow shutter speed. First one is at maximum wide angle. The second one shows the scene at roughly the equivalent of a 50 mm lens on a 35 mm SLR.

Had not really thought of printing it out. I wouldn't know where to start to take it to have it printed out as a panoramic shot. I imagine the local photo developing shop at wal mart wouldn't be able to do something like that.

I was thinking of getting a P90 to replace my Coolpix 8800, but that also produced way better results than anything I have seen here. I'm not sure what the problem is but right now I regret selling my 8800. It's some time since you uploaded these images, did you buy a P90 in the end? What do you think of it? Paul Here are some 8800 images for comparison: Taken at full zoom (10x) from a kayak on the water - cut his tail off but no camera shake. http://www.theparknottingham.co.uk/images/basilisk.jpg Handheld on a sunless day, long exposure to capture movement. http://www.theparknottingham.co.uk/images/kayak.jpg Extreme macro http://www.theparknottingham.co.uk/images/cricket.jpg Very low light, long exposure - no visible noise http://www.theparknottingham.co.uk/images/waterfall.jpg And here is my moon image, remember that this is less than half the zoom of the P90. http://www.theparknottingham.co.uk/images/moon2.jpg |
