Default Memory card write protected

I have a Nikon Coolpix P80 with a 20GB memory card. When I tried to shoot photos the last time, I got a message that said the memory card is write protected.

How do I remove that so I can shoot photos? I have never set it to be write protected.

If your your card is a sdhc card, there is a little tab on the side of the card that you can push up and down. That is how you write protect a sdhc card. But I have not heard of a 20gb sd card. So I am not sure if you camera uses sdhc.

That was the problem. There was a small tab on the edge of the card which had somehow gotten pushed down. I pushed it back up and it solved the problem.

Thanks
