Default Compact camera (Nikon 3700)

I'm thinking of getting my first digicam. I'm thinking of 3700 as I like the unlimited video capturing. Furthermore, I've read all the good reviews on it. However I have my doubts on the followings:-
1. Audio delay on the 640X480 movie mode. Does anybody experience it?

2. 3.2 megapix - Seems like more and more people are going for 4 megapix and above. I'm not sure whether 3.2 megapix would be a good choice. Should I go for 4 megapix? Any recommendations on Nikon product? Or should I wait again?

3. Which is better? Nikon 3200 or Nikon 3700?

I got the 3700 today but haven't taken any shots yet, so I can't answer question number 1.

Regarding question number 2, I also own the Coolpix 3100 which also has 3.2 megapixels and the pictures it takes are superb. I get prints done at a well-known national wholesale store and they always come out great. I've seen 5 megapixel cameras do worse than my 3100.

Regarding question number 3, if I were you I'd go for the 3700 like I did. The 3700 has a rechargable lithium-ion battery and charger while the 3200 does not come with one. The 3700 is heavier, brushed steel, etc. while the 3200 will be plasticky like the 3100. If you decide for the 3200 ($$$ will be a factor), make sure you get rechargable lithium-ion CR-V3s.

I have the same problem of choosing one DC from 3700 and 3200.
3200 is little thicker than 3700 but it can use AA which is easy to get when emergency and it also has a waterproof cover.
3700 has better movie effect and less shot to shot time.

it's really a hard job for me.

Default 3700 v 3200

Hi. I stumbled across your msg. Can't help but you probably have one by now so maybe you can advise me. I'm looking at a few cameras, mainly pentax optio S4i, coolpix 3200 and 3700 and sony DSCP8. What did you buy, are you happy with it and why??? Any comments appreciated - danielg@bigbutton.com.au
