I am having trouble with purple lines running the entire screen (top to bottom) on any video with bright lights (sunlight or fireworks). Sometimes it is barely noticable and other times it is so excessive as to destroy the entire video (like in all of my videos of a stagecoach ride my daughter and husband took today). Any suggestions on how to keep this from happening?

Do other digital cameras or camcorders have this problem?

I got a Nikon 3200 some time ago as a spare camera (Oly C5050 somethimes too bulky). It takes 640x480 pixels video. I've taken several clips in bright sunlight and haven't noticed the purple lines you talk about. Note that unlike the 3700, 3200 takes only 15 fps video.

Perhaps you should contact Nikon about this.
