I'm moving towards upgrading my Sony 717 (which I love) to a Nikon D70, because I need a faster camera for sports shots (indoor and outdoor). I have a couple of Nikon lenses: the standard AF Nikkor 28-80 and an AF Nikkor 80-200. I also have a Tamron AF 100-300. I need to know whether the last 2 lenses work with a D70. I've tried the 80-200 in an accommodating camera store and the results looked OK on playback, but haven't yet had the chance to try out the Tamron. Has anyone used this lens with a D70? Also, how well does the standard 28-80 work? Would I need to buy the D70's 'packaged' lens or could I get away with my existing w/a one? Any and all advice gratefully received, but preferably in layman's language - I get lost with the really technical stuff!
