Default Coolpix 4500 LCD screen

Have a question about the 4500 LCD screen. My old 950 viewing screen had glass. The 4500 looks like it is of LCD material and no glass over it. The question is does someone make a "perfect" fit glass cover for the 4500 lcd screen? And if so what quality is it and where does one acquire it?

I went to my friendly glass cutter and asked him to cut a piece to fit in the recess. He cut a matchiing piece from a very thin float glass. He 'harassed' the edges (got rid of the sharp bits) and it fitted absolutely perfectly. I glued it in place (after cleaning the LCD screen) with 4 (very tiny) drops from a tube of Super Glue.

Stops me getting finger and nose prints on the LCD screen.

Have fun

Danny

ps: He charged me AUS$5

Would a seperate glass plate make viewing worse in bright conditions. Certainly agree there's a need for a flush glass cover.....as the current design is a brilliant dust trap and a pain to clean because of it's fragility.
