Hello Nikon Owners,

I have 8800 for one week now and I finallyhad a time to compare image quality in different modes. I just wanted to know if the difference is big enough to use one in favour of another during my vacations when number of photos is growing fast and card capacity the opposite(every picture may count). I mounted my camera on a tripod, set up sample scene and took pictures, changing image quality setting each time. I used program P with default settings. To my surprise I found out that image quality of pictures taken with Extra setting for 8Mis actually worse than those taken with 5M and comparable to 3M! I was watching them using XP slide show(with pause) so I could really notice the difference. Anybody had any idea why? I would post the pictures but they're too big...

on the computer monitor the smaller picture will look better, but when you go to print the image on your printer the 8m is way far better due to to increase in resolution.
