Hi. I've read that 8800 can produce image quality that can be printed at 20 X 30 inches with excellent results. Is this really true? And would the original file be a RAW file?

I specifically want to know if there's artifact or noise when printed in such a large format.

In general I shoot in outdoor/daylight and use the zoom a lot.

yes, you can even print real good from 3.2 meg pixels if you resize a little first. try ofoto.com, kodakgallery now. doesn't cost too much to experiment. COSTCO.com can also do it even cheaper. I havent tried the Costco at that size, but have three or four good results from Kodak. 3 from fuji 602zoom, and one from the nikon 8800 at 8meg fine. The nikon was a panarama that was stitched very small and had to be resized greatly to print out big, but it worked fine. Remember, at that size we are talking wall hanging, not inspecting with a magnifying glass. Expirement!
