I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ1. I decided to buy a smaller, point and shoot camera that is not so bulky.

After reading Steve's review on the Nikon 5900 and 7900, I bought one yesterday at Wolf camera. I like the customer service I get from them.

I have 10 days to try it out. However, after coming to the forum, as well as other review sites, I see that low lighting is going to be a problem. I am only a beginner and need something much easier.

I think the Kodaks would be easier but most of them use AA batteries, which I don't think I would like.

Is there anything out there, 7 pixel, that is more user friendly than the Nikon?

By the way, I mainly want this for portrait shots of my cats and kids. I probably don't need a $400 camera for that.

Hope someone can help. Thanks so much.
