What exactly is the difference between Clear Image Mode and Noise Reduction? I gather that CI mode reduces the size of the image, and takes TWO images with the shutter open and one with it closed, then runs an algorithm to remove the hot pixels from the original pics. But what about Noise Reduction which still seems to take a second picture with the shutter closed?
What exactly is the difference between the two? And which would be preferable for nice long night shots of buildings and landscapes under a full moon? The accompanying manual for the camera is rather weak on explaining this to me.

Thanks in advance for your reply!
