I have a small studio that I use for some product photography.

Right now I am using the 8080 Wide.

I like it for all intents and purposes.

I have been doing a bunch of catalogue work, and I would find it helpful if I could control the camera with a laptop, to keep track of the products I am photographing... after 20 wallets, they all start to look the same....

I'm pretty sure that I cant control the 8080 with a laptop, maybe I can and I just need to get the right software, if so, please let me know. We are a Mac shop...

Any Road, if I do upgrade my camera, I am looking at the 410 or 510, I wont use it off a tripod, I have a Leica that I like for point and shoot stuff..

Thank you in advance.

Hi Ad

As far as I'm aware (I could be wrong) but only the Olympus Studio will allow you to control the camera via a mac or pc. I've only installed the 40 day trail on my mac and studio will do what you need, although I've not looked into any other software that may do the same.

Does that software work with the 8080?

If you go to the main page at http://www.steves-digicams.com and click on the Digicam Software menu choice, you'll see a link to a page with Camera Control Software. Here's a direct link to that page:

Edit -- fixed link:

Here's one that shows the C-8080WZ in it's list of supported cameras:

There are probably more, too (I just went to that one from Steve's page since I saw it mentioned Olympus).

I've been using Pinetree Camera Control to run a C-4040 on a microscope and have been very happy with it.
