There has been discussion of buying the cream of the crop lenses in another thread. I've tasted the 35-100 and WOW. Added the 7-14, and I'm impressed and intimidated by the image quality and perspective.
Now I did it big time. I always told myself I would have it one day, and decided to pull the trigger on a lens I know will get use. It fits my outdoor style and the only way I'll be disappointed is if the tripod tips over. Some quick pics with the E-3/300 f2.8/EC-14 at 425mm. ![]() It used to be all I had to do to get 100% crops is to crop smaller than my largest allowed size in Smugmug and post that largest size. Now it just won't display that largest size. Anyway, not 100%, but a resized crop, none the less. ![]() A sparrow ![]() and a crop ![]() A little farther away from the subject ![]() and a crop. ![]() I'm gonna love this thing, but unlike every other lens I've bought, the tripod collar will stay on this one. Holy Cr@p, man(!)......that would be my last lens in this lifetime.....period, much less last Zuiko.
What a set of lenses you now own. You need an SUV to carry that bag for you. The results are quite impressive. |

Aw Geez Greg!
It's bad enough that you had to go and get one of these. BUT, did you have to go and show your first shots were of birds? ![]() Seriously, congrats on getting a really fine lens. I hope you enjoy using it and be sure to post more.......... Zig |

Zig - you're in more trouble than I noted this morning. Can you spell Craig's List (grin)?
