Default [pics] Australian King-Parrots pair

In February my GF & I spent the weekend at a B&B in Noojee. We awoke on Sunday morning to find a pair of King-Parrots enjoying their breakfast on a bird feeder located in the middle of the gardens at Fernbrae Bush Retreat. Initially I stood at the base of the stairs several metres away from the birds & watched them feed, allowing them to get used to my presence. After 10 minutes or so, I slowly began to creep closer & closer towards the pair, enabling me to capture some close up portraits of these beautiful birds. The male has the orange coloured plumage.

We have some pretty birds in the US but nothing beats a real parrot (or macaw). Thanks for posting these.
