Default E-5 Front Dial (Sub Dial) stiffer than the Rear Dial (Main Dial)

I've noticed the Front Dial in my E-5 is much stiffer that the Rear Dial, it's not somrthing that's imposible to use but I would have expected both of them (Sub and Main) to be similar while you move them, or maybe they are designed this way to avoid moving it accidentally ?, previous experience ?, thoughts ?, thanks

The two seem identical to me. The action may feel stiffer compared to the back wheel using your thumb vs. The front dial and using a different finger. Just sitting here and playing with the two controls and trying to detect a difference, I see/feel/detect no difference whatsoever.
