Default [pics] Eastern Rosella

Every now & then I come across the beautifully coloured Eastern Rosella, but they are ALWAYS so difficult to approach, as they have quite a large comfort zone Ė if you trespass into this area the rosella is very quick to take flight. Incredibly frustrating when all you want is one nice photograph of them!

As I was happily photographing a flock of feeding Galahs, this Eastern Rosella appeared out of nowhere & landed in a tree only a few metres from me! I fumbled around with my camera for a few seconds before I took these shots as I was so excited! Thank goodness it didnít take off before I got myself together!

Despite the harsh light, I was really happy with how this image came out. The colours are just amazing. Definitely my favourite of the rosella species.
