Default [pic] female Galah

A return visit to my neighbour’s garden proved to be a very fruitful session as it was alive with a number of different bird species. The most abundant of the bird life was the Galah, with around a dozen or so perched amongst the trees, every now & then coming down to the feeder on the ground en masse.

Pictured here is one of the females of the flock, identified by the red iris. Galahs are a very committed partners as they mate for life. They can often be seen traveling & feeding in pairs.

This image is very sharp, and I love the muted colors. The textures are captured very well here. No bright sunshine helped a lot with that! This is my favorite type of light.
