Default [pics] juvenile male Galah

A return visit to my neighbour’s garden proved to be a very fruitful session as it was alive with a number of different bird species. The most abundant of the bird life was the Galah, with around a dozen or so perched amongst the trees, every now & then coming down to the feeder on the ground en masse.

This juvenile was more cautious than the adult birds. As it descended down the tree, it stopped at every branch to reassess the situation, trying to determine if I posed threat. The juvenile Galah is identified by the grey plumage across its chest. This bird is probably a year or so old, as the recently fledged Galahs have much more grey through their plumage.

This will be my last image/post for a while as I am moving house and am not sure how quickly the internet connection will be ready at my new house
