Default [pics] Rainbow Lorikeet

I made a return visit to Braeside Park the following weekend to see if I could get some better images of the Whistling Kites. Unfortunately the kites weren’t cooperative at all, however this did give me the opportunity to explore the park further.

Braeside Park is a haven for nesting birds, particularly parrots. There is an abundance of dead trees with plenty of hollows for birds to nest in. In particular there were plenty of Rainbow Lorikeets & several Red-rumped Parrots nesting. The Rainbow Lorikeets were much more accommodating & allowed me to get close enough for some nice portrait shots.
