Default Experimenting

Ever since I've had the 50-200mm, I've had the EC-20 pretty much glued to it. Today I started shooting without the EC-20 and I must say that I'm very pleased with the results. AND, I gain a full stop!

Great detail. A wonderful lens in the hands of someone who knows how to use it.

I must say, though, that as much as I like that lens I have a bit of concern as to the long-term mechanical reliability of any lens whose front element racks out and in that far when zooming. But then, I'm a sucker for great glass. The front of the 14-35 f/2 also moves in and out a little while zooming - for that kind of price the zoom really ought to be completely internal, like the 35-100 f/2.

Nice shot Gary. Obviously the lens is worth the money. The rest of us will just be jealous that we can't afford one.
